The Palm Beach County Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2012 and led by CEO Jamie Kendall. Headquartered in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, our mission is to alleviate hunger in Palm Beach County by collecting and distributing nutritious food at no cost to a network of more than 200 partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and schools. Through our Partner Marketplace and targeted initiatives in childhood hunger, senior hunger, benefits outreach, and nutrition education, we provide millions of meals each year—most recently distributing over 12.7 million pounds of food, equivalent to 10.6 million meals, to help approximately 193,000 neighbors facing food insecurity. As the only locally governed food bank in the county, we work collaboratively with community partners to deliver efficient, compassionate hunger relief while promoting dignity and long-term food security for all Palm Beach County residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists with maintaining all Community Kitchen program files (paper and electronic).
Helps collect, organize, and enter data on populations served.
Supports the preparation of daily delivery routes, delivery tickets, and required operational paperwork.
Assists with preparing materials for site visits and community outreach efforts.
Schedules site visits by calling potential partner sites and existing partner sites.
Enters data entry into systems with information retrieved during site visits.
Attends training sessions related to program requirements and food standards.
Performs general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, and preparing basic correspondence.

The Community Kitchen Program Intern provides hands-on support to the Community Kitchen Programs and Premier Kitchen Events at the Palm Beach County Food Bank. Reporting directly to the Community Kitchen Program Coordinator, this paid summer internship offers a valuable learning opportunity for students passionate about food security, community nutrition, and nonprofit operations. The intern will assist with daily tasks and event support to help ensure children, seniors, and families across Palm Beach County have reliable access to nutritious meals — advancing our mission: Together, we nourish our neighbors and improve their lives, one meal at a time.
Requirements:
Interns in this position must be able to exert light to moderate physical effort, typically involving driving, typing, reaching, bending, kneeling, walking, standing for periods in the kitchen, and some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials up to 30 pounds regularly.Â
