Key Responsibilities:
Raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members.; Read blueprints and follow layout instructions.; Position steel units, align holes, and bolt or weld pieces together.; Use hand and power tools to cut and fit metal parts.
Description:
As an Ironworker Apprentice, you will assist in the construction, installation, and reinforcement of structural and reinforcing steel and iron on buildings, bridges, roads, and other structures. This is a hands-on position involving physical labor, safety awareness, and learning through both on-the-job experience and classroom instruction. You will work under the direct supervision of journeyman ironworkers to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a certified ironworker.
